The Platinum Law policy provides you with the following benefits:
1. Legal Advice and Assistance
This benefit provides you with unlimited telephonic Legal Advice during business hours, provided by our team of fully qualified in-house Legal Advisors. In addition to advising you, your Legal Advisor will try to resolve your problem by communicating with third parties on your behalf. Advice and assistance is provided on any legal matter, such as:
We will also write letters and make calls to 3rd parties to resolve issues.
Matters relating to your conduct of a business or any venture for gain or transaction or undertaking where profit is the motive are unfortunately excluded.
2. Legal Expenses Cover
This benefit becomes relevant where your legal advisor, after making reasonable efforts, has been unable to resolve your legal dispute. If your case is covered by the terms and conditions of the policy, it will now be referred to an independent practicing attorney who will represent you. Should this happen Platinum Law will pay the appointed attorney’s legal expenses, up to the amount stipulated in your Platinum Life policy schedule.
In order to keep the premium affordable, certain matters are not covered under the Legal Expenses benefit. For example, the policy does not cover your legal expenses in the case of prior events, business matters, family matters (such as divorce and maintenance), and criminal charges where you have no defense to the charge. For the details concerning excluded matters, please refer to your policy document.
3. After Hours Emergency Services
If you or anyone covered by your policy is arrested after-hours, and needs to bring an urgent bail application, we will assist as follows: When you call our offices after-hours, you will be directed via our auto-attendant to a Legal Advisor who will arrange legal representation for you. The legal costs incurred will be paid by the policy, provided all the terms and conditions have been met. Platinum Law cannot, however, guarantee that an attorney will be available in your area.
Should you suspect that you might have a potential legal problem, call as soon as possible. The policy requires you to call no later than 90 days after gaining knowledge of a legal problem.

After your initial telephone consultation, your advisor may decide to communicate with a third party. Your advisor may give this party a certain time period within which to respond (usually 14 days).
