Claim Process with Platinum Life
After the claim was put through, the papers came back, which I took to fill in and I couldn’t believe it when they said everything is in order. Then the message came through saying that the money had been paid into my bank account. When the amount said it was R245 or R242 000 I shook my head, I couldn’t believe it. I wondered, “Should I keep it a secret, should I tell someone?” I was with my daughter, Lois, the one that I just drove away in the bakkie, and I said to her, “Lois, my money was paid in,” and she said, “Mom, really?” I said, “Lois, you won’t believe how much it is.” She couldn’t believe it when I told her, and when I told Carol she said, “Wow!” And do you know what your name has become now? The people that keep on giving. That’s what it is now because after that money, you phoned asked how I was and that there was a parcel that you were going to send to me and asked what my size was. I have a larger frame but everything of mine must be a little bit bigger. I gave my shoe size and the size that I wear, and then parcel arrived here. When I came over everyone was here and when I opened it Liam, the one that just left, said, “Mom, who are these people? They’re just giving things to you, they don’t even know you!” While I was opening it Adam said, “Oh, you know the gift is a box in a box”, because when we opened the one box there was another box and in that box was the clothing. I kept taking out more and more and then I found the envelope with the Musica gift card for R200.
I thought it ended there because I got all the money plus this gift and then I got another phone call from you. Yolandi, you always asked how I was, if I was okay. It’s a calling you know, the Lord is good. Then I said, “Yes, I’m okay,” then you said, “Daphne, we have another parcel to deliver to you.” I said, “Okay, thank you very much.” Then I told Adam, “Just look after the parcel for mom, I don’t know what is in it.” When we opened it my son said, “Oh you know what, my mother got another gift,” “Where does this come from?” “From those people, you those people that keep on giving.” Then when we opened it, I saw it was the gift card from Pick n Pay and I bought a fridge for myself. We bought a few other things and I still have a balance left. My son-in-law said, “By the way, this Platinum, seems like it’s just a ladies thing, because everything is just ladies, ladies.” But I told him, “The man is included.” I told him, from the beginning I included my partner.
