Money From the Claim
Because I have three children and then the grandchildren, the four grandsons, I gave each one of the grandchildren R10 000. I told their parents to invest it. I told them my wish is that because Liam still has three years before he goes to high school, Dean has four years and Christopher is still small that it should be invested because I don’t what they are going to need. So, they paid it into their accounts for them. Adam is already 20 so he could already take it for himself, but he said he trusts his parents, so they put it into his account and to each of them I gave R5000. Then I put R50 000 in a fixed deposit for a year because I don’t know what the future holds for me, I might need the money, so if I need an operation or something that’s medical then I must have the money available. The other R50 000 was put in FNB’s Money-On-Call account. Then, where I stay with my daughter I put a built-in cupboard in and here I bought a fridge for myself and then I’m going to put another built-in cupboard in here. The rest of the money is just for myself, for whatever I need. I told my friend, “You know Rachel, I am so glad that you referred me.” I said, “I was just thinking if I wasn’t with Platinum, maybe it would have happened, then I would have had the operation, but I wouldn’t have had a cent.” I told her, “Never stop your policy.” Last year I was on a farm near Zeerust with my other friend and when I walked into the bathroom the toiletry bag was lying there and I ran out and said, “Judy, whose Platinum Life bag is this?” She said, “Daphs, why do you ask? It’s mine.” I asked, “Do you belong to Platinum?” She said yes and told me she wouldn’t stop the policy.
